Farm Principles

The Creator's template — I work with biological processes of the created order as much as possible. Everything on this farm proceeds from the following thought: Since the beginning of time, plants and animals thrived without man-made concoctions. If they thrived without all these things back then, then they can do it now, too. The best food product, greatest ecological stewardship, most sustainable economic solution, and most emotionally rewarding results for producers and consumers will come ONLY when farms operate on biological principles. Nature always bats last.

Local — "Food with the farmer's face on it" creates integrity in a food system. Coming out to see firsthand how your food is raised is the best way for you to determine what you think is safe to eat. The freshest, most nutritious, and environmentally responsible food is raised close to home.

Grass-based — All livestock are moved to fresh green material on a regular basis. This makes superior quality meat and eggs and maximizes pasture productivity while simultaneously improving the soil without chemicals and pesticides.

Humane Animal Husbandry — Animals are free to roam around, soak up the sunshine, and get plenty of green grass. This environment works with and allows animals to express their natural behaviors.

Open Door Policy — Visitors are always welcome. There are no secrets here. Bring the whole family!
